Xbox Live Gold Membership

The Xbox gaming system comes with a Silver membership that allows you to play games online, chat with friends and visit the Marketplace.  However, you won’t get everything you can from the system unless you buy a Xbox Live Gold membership that will really enhance your game playing experience.

You’ve undoubtedly enjoyed many multiplayer games on other gaming systems but these usually involve inviting someone to be in the same room with you, playing with an extra controller.  When you get a Gold membership you can play multiplayer games with people from all over the world!  Language is no barrier, nor is distance.  You can enjoy playing games with anyone, anytime, no matter where they are.

Have you ever played a game with someone that was so much better than you that it was an exercise in frustration?  Perhaps you’ve had to play with someone whose skills were so far below you that the game was boring.  Your Gold membership gives you access to TrueSkill matchmaking; this feature will find the best match for your skill level when you are playing a ranked game.  You’ll get exciting competition without the aggravation of playing with someone whose skills are way above or far below your own.  This is a good way to learn some new tricks, too.

With Gold membership you’ll also have access to exclusive features of the Marketplace that aren’t available to those with basic memberships.  You can get early access to game add-ons, watch trailers and videos, get demos and more. 

If you are a member of Netflix, your Gold membership lets you enjoy the extensive Netflix library of streaming movies and television shows right there on your game console at no charge to you. 

As you can see, Gold membership has a lot of extras that you can’t get with a basic subscription.  Priced at less than $5 a month, it truly gives you a lot more than you pay for.  You can get an annual Xbox live 12 month membership, or pay monthly or every three months (quarterly).   Gold memberships are available at the Xbox website, your local gaming shop or at a variety of sites online, some of which even give discounts.  For the cheapest option, shop online as most retailers will email the code to you, saving you both money and time!
